By BCPL

The Library will host a number of holiday programs for kids, tweens, and families in December.

"Papermaking" will be held on Sunday, December 7th at 2:00 pm in the Storytime Room at the Library. At this special event, children will discover paper's past by learning where paper comes from and exploring the history of papermaking. They'll create their own handmade paper and make a greeting card from the paper they've made.

Rainbow Puppets will re-enact the classic story of a beloved red-nosed reindeer on Wednesday, December 10th at 4:00 pm in the Community Room at the Library. This is a free, non-ticketed event for children.

Santa Claus will make a special appearance at all storytimes on December 16th & 17th. Storytimes are held on Tuesdays at 10:30 am (Toddler) & 11:30 am (Preschool) and Wednesdays at 10:30 am (Preschool) & 11:15 am (Homeschool).

Sock Snowmen will be held on Thursday, December 18th at 4:00 pm. At this fun event, tweens (ages 9-13) will make a snowman that is more cuddly than cold using socks and other craft supplies. Socks will be provided for those who have registered. Register for this event in the Children's library.

A Free Family Movie will be shown on Friday, December 19th at 4:00 pm. The whole family is invited to watch this popular 2013 Disney movie based on an adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's fairytale The Snow Queen. Free popcorn will be provided.

DIY Homemade Holiday Gifts will be held on Monday, December 22nd from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. If you're looking for homemade gift ideas for family and friends, come spend some time with us. You'll learn how to make your own presents for loved ones this holiday season. All ages are invited to participate. Please register in advance.

We'll have a Happy Noon Year Party on Wednesday, December 31st starting at 11:30 am. Ring in the new year a little early with activities, crafts, and snacks. Our celebration will include a countdown to a balloon drop at noon! Children of all ages are welcome to attend. Registration not required.
