September 17, 2017
By BCPL

The Friends of the Library 2017 Fall Film Series kicks off on Thursday, September 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Boyle County Public Library. The series is usually organized around a film genre (e.g., comedy), a time period (e.g., 1930s), or a topic (e.g., politics). However, this fall the film series will be a little different. The series will feature a variety of films including a musical, a western, a comedy, a romance, and various dramas. The unifying factor in this eight-week series is that each of the films is directed by a director whose works have been the highest rated according to film critics and film historians.

The films, which feature well known directors and award-winning actors, will be introduced each evening by Charles Vahlkamp, professor emeritus at Centre College.

There is no charge for admission, and free popcorn will be available. The film series will run on Thursday evenings through November 9th. An interpreter for the deaf is available upon request by contacting the Library 48-hours in advance at 859-238-7323. All are invited to attend.
