Tween Advisory Group (TAG)
Monday, March 5th at 4:00 p.m.

Tween Advisory Group will meet on Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. TAG provides a way for tweens to have fun planning events while volunteering their time at the library. This month participants will plan upcoming programs and make popsicle stick puzzles. For more information about tween programs, see Ms. Kinsey Hisle in the Children’s Library. For ages 9-13.


French Café
Monday, March 5th at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday evening at 5:00 p.m., the Library will host French Café. At this "community requested-community led" program, people of all ages can gather together in a relaxed atmosphere to practice speaking French in casual conversation. This event is great for those who are fluent speakers as well as for those who are just learning the language. The French Café will be held in the Mahan Gallery at the Library.

Tax Prep Assistance
Tuesdays & Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The AARP Foundation and the United Way will offer tax preparation help at the Library on Tuesdays and Saturdays, respectively. This assistance will continue through early April.

  • AARP Foundation Tax-Aide services will be available on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to taxpayers with low to moderate income, with special attention given to those who are age 60 and older. This walk-in service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wanting to use this service will need to bring the previous year’s tax return, a photo ID, and social security card.
  • The United Way Tax Preparation Assistance will be available by appointment only on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. To make an appointment, call 211 or 1-866-353-6354 or go online to for more information and to reserve an appointment.


Kid’s Book Club (Week 3)
Tuesday, March 6th at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., the Library will host the Kid’s Book Club. The club will meet weekly for four weeks on Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., and is recommended for children who are in grades 1-3. Each week we’ll read a different book from one of our favorite series. This week the club will be reading Geronimo Stilton: The Karate Mouse. Children are invited to come discuss the books, participate in themed games and crafts, and enjoy snacks. Registration is required.

Family Movie Night
Thursday, March 8th at 5:00 p.m.

On Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. the Library will host "Family Movie Night." Families are invited to come to the Library to watch Wonder, the hit movie from 2017 based on the best-selling book by R.J. Palacio about a boy with facial differences who is entering a mainstream elementary school for the first time. Related activities and snacks will be provided. (Rated PG; 113 min.)


Coloring & Conversation
Thursday, March 8th at 6:00 p.m.

The Library will host a coloring club for adults on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. Many adults have rediscovered the joys of coloring as a way to relax and combat stress. The club, which is done in partnership with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension office, meets on the second Thursday of the month in the Mahan Gallery.
