 "The Buzz on Beekeeping”
Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m.

On Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., members of the Fort Harrod Beekeeping Club will share about their experiences raising bees and collecting honey. Attendees of the program will be entered into a drawing to win a jar of locally produced honey. This event will be held in the Community Room.

Family Game Night
Monday, November 5 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

On Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. the library will host a Family Game Night. All ages are welcome to stop by and play a wide variety of board games, including both classic and newer games. Pizza and snacks will be available. This event will be held in the Community Room.


French Café
Monday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday evening at 5:00 p.m., the library will host French Café. People of all ages can gather together in a relaxed atmosphere to practice speaking French in casual conversation. This event is great for those who are fluent speakers as well as for those who are just learning the language.


Kids Book Club (Week 2)
Tuesday, November 6 at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, November 6 at 4:00 p.m., the library will host the Kids Book Club. The club will meet weekly for four weeks on Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., and is recommended for children who are in grades 1-3. Each week we’ll read a different book from one of our favorite series. Book series will include Magic Tree House and Geronimo Stilton. Children are invited to come discuss the books, participate in themed games and crafts, and enjoy snacks. Registration is required.


Teen Dungeons & Dragons Club
Tuesday, November 6 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The library will host a Dungeons & Dragons club for teens on Tuesday, November 6 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Teens (ages 13-18) are invited to come play this popular role-playing game in a social group setting. Food, refreshments, and gaming supplies will be provided. No experience is necessary to participate. Players who have their own dice, rulebooks, miniatures, etc., are welcome to bring them. Registration and a liability waiver are required for participants of this event. Both are available at the library’s Circulation desk. (Ages 13-18)


Community Blood Drive
Wednesday, November 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The City of Danville Community Blood Drive will be held at the library on Wednesday, November 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the library. Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is encouraging Kentuckians to roll up their sleeves, donate blood, and help Kentucky patients. As a thank you, those who register to give blood at the drive will receive a “Donate blood, y’all” tee shirt. To schedule a donation, visit or call 800.775.2522.


FOTL Fall Book Sale
Thursday, November 8 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Friday, November 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will be holding their annual Fall Book Sale on Thursday, November 8 through Saturday, November 10 at the Boyle County Public Library, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Stop by and pick up some treasures for your own collection! Proceeds of the sale will go toward library programs and events funded by the Friends of the Library. 


Coloring & Conversation
Thursday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m.

The library will host a coloring club for adults on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. Many adults have rediscovered the joys of coloring as a way to relax and combat stress. The club, which is done in partnership with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension office, meets on the second Thursday of the month in the Mahan Gallery.


Fall Film Series: Comedies (Week 6)
Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Library wrap up their annual Fall Film Series on Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room. The films will be introduced each evening by Charles Vahlkamp, professor emeritus at Centre College. There is no charge for admission, and free popcorn will be available. 

This week's film is My Cousin Vinny. In this comedy from 1992, two teenagers from New York are accused of murder in rural Alabama while on their way back to college. Unable to afford a good attorney, they call the cousin of one of the boys -- an inexperienced, loud-mouthed lawyer -- who comes to defend them.


Chess Club
Saturday, November 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the Library will host Chess Club. All ages and skill levels are welcome to come play (or learn how to play) the game of chess. This event will be held in the Community Room.
