November 11, 2015
By BCPL

This month, the Library is offering a Book-to-Film series for teens. Teens (and tweens with parental permission) are invited to watch the popular films based on a best-selling series of adventure novels written by American author Suzanne Collins. The first film, shown on November 5th, told the story of a young woman who voluntarily entered a ceremonial fight-to-the-death to save her younger sister from competing.

The remaining two films in the series will be shown at the Library from 5:30 - 8:00 pm on November 12th and 19th. There is no charge for admission and free popcorn will be available. (Parental permission forms for children under 13 will be located at the Library's Circulation Desk and in the Children's Library.)

Due to licensing restrictions, the Library is prohibited from using film titles online. However, the descriptions of the remaining films in the series are listed below.

Thursday, November 12th
The saga continues in this 2013 film, when after defying the rules of competition, the winners unwittingly fuel a national rebellion and become targets of the government.
(146 minutes; Rated PG-13)

Thursday, November 19th
In the first part of the 2014 trilogy finale, new leadership and friends fuel the flames of rebellion.
