Cookies

• 2 cups flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp salat
• 1 cup shortening
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup pumpkin puree
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1/2 cup nuts of choice
• 1 cup raisins or chopped dates if desired

Caramel Frosting

• 3 tbsp butter
• 4 tbsp milk
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 3/4 tsp vanilla

Cookies

1. sift dry ingredients
2. cream shortening and sugar
3. add pumpkin and egg
4. add dry ingredients and vanilla
5. add any fruit or nuts

Frosting

1. combine first three ingredients in saucepan.
2. boil 2 min then cool
3. stir in sugar and vanilla
