In the Kentucky Room, the library has a number of genealogy reference works, family history books and files, along with the Boyle County Cemetery records covering 1792-1992.
We have a consistent collection of the Danville-Advocate Messenger on microfilm from 1900-2008 and some local newspapers dating back to April 1820. We also have the Lincoln Ledger on microfilm from March 1984-June 2004.
The Kentucky Room has some of the genealogical information on many of the surrounding counties; including Lincoln and Mercer Counties which in 1842 portions were used to form Boyle County. Genealogical data for those counties prior to 1842 should be sought in either of those “mother” counties, although, the Boyle County Public Library does possess some materials that can be helpful in research of “pre-Boyle County” days.
